Jesus Calls the Cripple

When Jesus encountered the infirm woman of Luke 13, He called out to her. There may have been many fine women present that day, but the Lord didn't call them forward. He reached around all of them and found that crippled woman in the back. he called forth the wounded, hurting woman with a past. He issued the Spirit's call to the one whose value and self-esteem had been destroyed by the intrusion of vicious circumstances.

The infirm woman must have thought, "He wants me. He wants me. I'm frayed and worn, but He wants me. I have been through trouble. I have been through trauma, but He wants me!" She may have thought no one would ever want her again. But Jesus wanted her. He had a plan.

She may have known that it would take a while to put her life back together. She had many things to over come. She was handicapped. She was probably filled with insecurities. Yet Jesus still called her forward to receive His touch.

If you can identify with the feelings of this infirm woman, then know that He's waiting on you because He wants you. He sees your struggle and He knows all about your pain. He knows what happened to you eighteen years ago and ten years ago and last week. With patience He waits for you as the father waited for the prodigal son (see Luke 15:11-32). Jesus says to the hurting and the crippled, "I want you enough to wait for you to hobble your way back home."

Now God says, "I'm going to deliver you and heal you. I'm going to renew and release you. I'm going to tell you who you are. I'm ready to reveal to you why you had to go through what you did to become what you will become." He says, "I'm going to tell you a secret, something just between you and me. No one else knows. Your boyfriend doesn't know. Your first husband doesn't know. Your father, uncle, brother, or whoever abused you doesn't know. This is the secret: You're the daughter of a king. Your Father is the King."

When that woman came to Jesus, He proclaimed her freedom. Now she stands erect for the first time in eighteen years. When you come to Jesus, He will cause you to stand in His strength. You will know how important you are to Him. Part of your recovery is to learn how to stand up and live in the "now" of today instead of the "then" of yesterday.

I proclaim victory to the abused: You will recover the loss you suffered at the hands of your abuser. You will get back every stolen item. You will reclaim your self-esteem, your self-respect, your integrity. there is a healing going into your spirit right now. I speak life to you. I speak deliverance to you. I speak restoration to you. All in the might name of Jesus-the invincible, all-powerful, everlasting name of Jesus!

Trusting God in the Tough Times

Trusting God in the Tough Times
Today's Scripture
“Trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success” Proverbs 3:5-6 (TLB).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
We all face tough times that challenge everything we believe. And we often have the hardest time seeing God's hand when we're in difficult situations - because we just don't understand what He is doing. But the exhilarating thing is that God uses tough times to show us His favor and blessing. It may not feel comfortable at first, but seek God's face all the more when you're struggling. When you ask Him, He will give you everything you could possibly ever need to make it through the trying times. And He will give you special eyes to see Him through all of your hardships. Your human understanding will fall short, so just give God full control and watch the blessings flow.
A Prayer for Today
God, give me the eyes to see Your face in the midst of my troubles. Thank You for never leaving me and for giving me what I need to persevere through my roughest days. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

God is at Work for You

God is at Work for You
Today's Scripture
“I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future” Jeremiah 29:11 (NCV).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Too often, we think God is just out there - watching and waiting for us to get things right. God is a big God, but He loves you and He wants to help bring the best things possible into your life. God is at work in your life each and every day, blessing you and preparing you for great and wonderful things that you can’t even imagine! Your entire perspective will radically change when you realize God is in your everyday experiences. Even when we are not completely faithful to Him, He is always faithful to us! Make God your hope and rely solely on Him, and He’ll faithfully work things out that will bless you, protect you and encourage you!
A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for always having my best in mind. I know that You love me and want the best for Your children. Help me to be faithful to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture
“Because of your faith it will happen.” (Matthew 9:29)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Most believers just don’t expect enough from God. God can do all things at any time, but many of His own followers put Him in a box and try to close Him in. Don’t do that to God, because He is too big and too great to fit in your box or anyplace else. Stay away from phrases like, “I wish I was as happy as I was before,” or “If I could just get a job like the one I used to have.” God doesn’t want to bring you out just like you were before. He wants to bring you out better than you were before! He wants to move you forward and grow you in His blessings. God’s desire is to increase you and make you stronger, happier and healthier. God loves you with an unconditional, unending love. You have all that you need to live the abundant life that Jesus promised!
A Prayer for Today
God, I know that I can expect the best from You. Thank You for being willing to give me even greater things than I can ask or imagine. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
